A lot can happen in a month...

Big changes on the bike front... I've decided to switch machines in order to have a "do all" bike in the garage.  Trackdays, commuting, touring, etc... can it be done?  A few Brit bike mags like Practical Sportbikes and Performance Bikes say so, and make some suggestions.  Based on a number of articles, some internet searches, and my own preferences, I ended up with this...

A 1999 ZX7R.  I was able to get it for a very good price, and while it needs some work, it is in great shape.

Like my RC51, its big and a tad heavy, but losing some weight (while not the top priority) is not too hard.  It will have to be an agreement of compromises, as it isn't "just" going to be a racer...

I'll certainly miss the EX, and the fun I had riding and racing it.  It has found a good home with a fellow MRA competitor, so I might get to see it in action with another rider.  I just couldn't justify having a full blown racer sitting in the garage to do only a few trackdays a year, when (perhaps) another bike would allow me to do more.

I'll be starting another blog on the zx7r.  I'll leave this up as a reference, as I learned a lot with the EX, and documented all my mods, races, trackdays, and of course sponsor support herein.  As the EX heads off into the distance, be sure to check out my zx7r blog...

Aw bummer. I definitely used some of your ideas as inspiration (if not outright stealing) for some of my own modifications.
Good luck with the new bike.
